Tuesday, 08 December 2009 13:30

Small Business in Georgia may finally feel some relief over the next 6 months with TARP funds being redirected from Wall Street to Main Street according the President Barak Obama's presentation at the Brookings Institute. Small Business comprises 97% of all of Georgia's 675,000 businesses.

Obama's plan:

1. Eliminate Capital Gains tax for small business, waive fees and increase guarantees on loans made by the Small Business Administration.

2. Boost infrastructure with more money to fund transportation and communications....particularly roads, bridges and broadband (full impact to be felt over a 2 year period.

3. Create incentives for families to retrofit homes with energy efficient renovations using energy from solar and wind turbines.

4. Increase funds for the Recovery Act of 2009.

5. Reform Health care to make health insurance affordable for small business.
